The Word: Jesus as God's Message

There are people who talk a lot, but I've never known anyone to be named wordy because they talked a lot. But Jesus was called the Word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Bible thinks of Jesus as the person who communicates. A lot of people want to hear from God, but they don't often think how passionate God wants to speak to us. So passionate that Jesus' name is actually called the message or the Word. Would you bow, please, for a moment of prayer? I hear a lot of people, Father, talk about wanting to have direction or guidance in their life about decisions. I hear a lot of people who want to have answers to questions in their lives. You've given us Jesus. You read, and in the Bible, He's called your message to us. I ask today that you would help us to listen to you, that we might be able to hear today what you want from us. You've given us Jesus. Today we ask, give us your Word. In the name of Christ we ask it, amen.
